Exploring Quality in Family Child Care
This professional learning series supports a deeper understanding of the Satellite Accreditation Standards. In these one-hour monthly events at naptime, you will learn the evidence-based rationale behind a high-quality standard and discover ideas for practical implementation in your program.

Creating Inviting Play Areas

High-quality early childhood environments have carefully designed learning areas and materials arranged so that children may choose, find, and replace materials based on their individual interests and self-directed goals. This course will dive into the impact of environmental organization on children’s play behavior, stress tolerance, social development, and critical thinking skills. Educators will learn strategies for arranging and displaying materials within a home-based environment to invite deeper, more autonomous play among mixed ages.

In this course, Director of Family Child Care Strategy and Advancement Kelly Matthews (WECA) explores how to diversify and maximize your savings through a variety of retirement account options available to small business owners. We will explore how to anticipate your social security benefits, build a healthy retirement fund, and integrate protective policies into your business. Pyramid Model is a framework that guides the understanding of social and emotional development in young children using evidence-based practices to help support the children in your program. This course includes 16 hours of independent learning and eight one-hour sessions of group reflection.
